We're a ways away from eclipsing the tragedy set in motion at Fort Sumter, though it could certainly be overshadowed, should events play out the way some are envisioning and predicting what they wish to see happen in the coming months. January 6 certainly poses an ignoble pressure point for our democracy, but the full story has yet to be realized.
