1. The US has a lot of immigrant veterans, except for the Trump family.

From the Irish, Polish, German, Norwegian etc who came here and fought for the North in the Civil War to the many Mexican and various Eastern European immigrants or children of immigrants who served in more recent history, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan etc. America has benefited from the service of multitudes of immigrant veterans.

I worked with an older Russian guy who came here mid sixties to go to school and partied his way out. He was drafted and sent to Vietnam. The US reserved the right to draft any males over the age of 18 who have been in the US for more than 6 months.
