close to home. No one's experience is the same as anyone else's, but I have sorta been there done that.

This may not at all apply to your situation, but in mine, encouraging, i.e., scheduling, hydration---water consumption---helped ease the disorientation and "hallucinations" somewhat. Also, research the side effects of any med or supplement Mom is taking. In our case eliminating one gave us another year of lucidity.

Again, this may not apply to your situation but, in ours there was a period or two of attempted violence towards us. This is not that uncommon. There are actually cases of serious injuries or even death caused by a belligerent hallucinating parent.

TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF. They---the real "they", before dementia---would want you to.
