Note there is a public comment period, which ends soon (7/13/26). Link found near the top of the OMB proposal linked above.

These proposed changes do NOT have to be passed by Congress, but if we can get enough influential congress critters to squawk about it, that could help torpedo the proposal.

The changes are purportedly offered "to reduce waste, fraud and abuse", yada yada yada. Their standard rationale for gutting federal effective, reasonable and purposeful regulations. But, good gawd, the effects of what they are proposing would be devastating, as described in NNadir's post.

PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO COMMENT ON THE PROPOSED REGULATIONS!!!
