as QB, never had defense worth a nickel. Several games this past season he got the team double digit leads only to see McDaniel's defense squander it away. Check all the successful QBs and you'll find there's a good defense behind them. It doesn't happen without a good defense.

You are right however about the son of Al being a dumb ass (see hiring of McDaniels who failed in his first stint as a HC. Why hire a previous loser?)

As for Carr, you may not know he's had one of the highest completion percentages of all QBs for the last few years. This past season was not one of his best but I still contend that if the poor defense hadn't squandered several double digit leads in games, they could've made the playoffs like last season when Carr rallied them from the Gruden debacle and the Henry Ruggs tragedy.

Even greats like Brady and Manning have off years. They move on from Carr, but Lamar Jackson is still out there, and he's certainly a much more dynamic QB than Garoppolo. They should've went after him. Jus think what that team would be with QB Jackson, one of the WR in the game, a good tight end and slot receiver and the great RB they have. That offense would be hard to stop.

Garopollo IMO is just OK. The 49er have been trying get rid of him for years.
