1. I'm about to try 'regrowing' onions.

I bought three yellow globe onions recently to use in a crock pot recipe, and I cut them so as to leave the root pad and core intact, just using the outer rings of the onions. I've seen on pinterest that you can regrow just from the roots and maybe a half inch of the bottom, but I'm wanting to see if it works and is slower or faster working with the core, rather than just cut off rings.
