Solar and Wind can be integrated into energy producing systems (eg. grids). This requires more sophisticated engineering but is proving itself as a flexible and often overall cheaper source of energy. It can be seen in the use of solar, in particular, in developing countries. And the minimum-capacity of Wind energy probably increases for Offshore Wind.
