1. I am beginning to understand where you are

My company announced earlier this month that our department was being closed and that by the end of the month (September), we would all know our fate. We could be transferred or let go.

Right now, with 5 working days left in the month, I am sweating bullets. 58 years old and 32 years at one company, now what?

We have to get up each day and take it a day at a time and just keep beating it back down.

I am drawing from my experience in the Reagan years, when I couldn't find a job for 3 years. You take everything you can get and keep punching the hole in getting into our career.

Don't give up man! I was down to my last dollar when I was hired by the company that may turn me out after 32 years.

You have skills and you have value, don't let the world beat you down, beat it!
