9. Go to your Home folder > Library > Safari

and delete the "WebpageIcons.db" file.

This is the file that store all the webpage previews you see if you go into your History in Safari. The file gets very big very quickly, and when it does, you get slowdowns and freezes. And not just in Safari, it can affect other applications as well.
