4. I did see them in concert in May 1973.

Frankly, it was the worst concert I've ever seen. They mixed on stage, instead of in the audience. Despite having what they billed as "the largest sound system in the world" (nearly 500 speakers) the sound was awful. The vocals were muddy to the point that they were virtually unintelligible, and really only the drums and bass stood out. We left early; the first and only time I ever walked out on a concert.
