1. I just looked up mass shootings in Australia vs US......

Australia has very restrictive gun laws, and sadly has just had a mass shooting/terror attack. I've seen gun nuts pointing to this as "proof" that gun laws don't work.

Australia has had NINE mass shootings (with four or more victims) in the past TEN years.

Mass shootings in the US are so fucking common that they're impossible to reliably keep track of. This list of mass shootings in the US (with four or more victims) so far this year is from Wikipedia:
