Thank you, that is the term, and sadly, it permeates many areas of life, and it's not just right wing loonies, mainstream and left also have their devotees, and it's not only connected to politics. Once you get a little narcissism, power, some mental concepts, and mix in some financial benefits, anyone can convince themselves of their own brilliance.
