(2,713 posts)Acute paranoia, often with inexperienced users was what I meant. And yes, it's the only 'documented toxicity', if you even want to use such an extreme word as 'toxicity'. I'd call it more of an unwanted side-effect, myself
However, its definitely not unheard for extreme/chronic users to appear to develop paranoid thought patterns from that chronic use. This is a different phenomenon though vs. acute paranoia that's more common to inexperienced users.
And in fact, I'd suppose it *may* be that the people who seem to develop this sort of long-term paranoia may have already had the underlying problem before they even started using, which they then self-medicated with marijuana, and rather than improving it, it makes the pre-existing condition more acute over time. Simply because, it's not at it's heart, "a good thing for everyone to use in excess". No drug is.
