In reply to the discussion: the us should be banned form the world cup [View all]jmowreader
(53,585 posts)62. If I was the referee I probably wouldn't have shown even a yellow card
What happened was Folarin Balogun of the USMNT and Tarik Muharemović of Bosnia and Herzegovina were going for the ball, got tangled up, and Balogun stepped on Muharemović's foot. Muharemović was behind Balogun when it happened. It was just hard play.
The biggest issue is the referees in this World Cup have shown more red cards than were shown in the entirety of the last two World Cups combined and there's still a lot of soccer left to play. FIFA is the Mos Eisley Spaceport of the sporting world so one has to wonder who paid off Infantino to get all these players sent off.

Would anyone watch basketball if the players only shot the ball ten times a game?

That circumstance will remain purely hypothetical: on an outside chance, the US might just be able to defeat . . .

Actually there should not be a red card. Let the players sort things out themselves.

Fuck FIFA. ,Fuck Trump. It's too bad, but the US team will now be thought of as an illegitimate competitor by many.

LOL. Expecting FIFA to do anything less than maximally corrupt and utterly shamelessly too.

If I were the US coach I'd bench the player with the red card for one match. I'd catch hell, but that's how

I agree that the red card was a bad call, but the president of a country has no business weighing in on something like
