Except that some states may be very different than where I live.

I do think the grifters behind MAGA are looking to take what they can wherever they can, and they will succeed in some places. It will be hard for them to overcome the current disgust with their policies this year ... but they will keep trying.

Our best defense, to keep your statement true, is to keep a decentralized and non-interconnected voting system.

(back in the days of Danaher machines, I figured out that someone would have to break into the county's voting machine warehouse to swap out the module - forget the exact term for it now - and that was maybe doable if the right people were bribed. But that gets to conspiracy level and becomes very hard to do on a mass scale. I believe my current locality / system has similar barriers, but I can't speak for other places. )
