I was thinking this morning upon awakening, [View all]
that we have lowered the bar in such an extreme fashion during the past eleven years that we are likely past the point of no return
Lying: the first Trump administration kicked off their program/pogrom by declaring that the crowds for his inauguration were greater than those ever seen in the District of Columbia period, despite the fact that every photograph, video, and eyewitness account proved that that was untrue. Then we had 55,000 lies or so in between which prepared us for Scott Bessent stating that even if people felt and claimed that they were distraught, upset, frustrated, and economically challenged, that in their heart of hearts they were not. That actually might be the nadir, so far, of our journey downwards.
Thievery and corruption: it has been revealed that seats to the Kennedy Center, when it was open, were going for $100,000 to $1,000,000 or more in order to have access to Trump. Meanwhile, Democratic Party elected officials over the years were forced from office by the media and their own party members for submitting falsified and/or inflated restaurant and hotel bills to their own campaign committees. This is the tip of the iceberg: $2,000,000,000 to the Presidents son-in-law given by a foreign power. Wonder why you havent heard much from Ivanka lately?
Incompetence: Hegseth, Patel, Noem, Oh Hell, everyone else hes appointed. Res ipse loquitur.
Death: the War against science and healthcare is being waged deliberately. They want to reduce the population of unwanteds by hook or by crook: cutting benefits, limiting vaccines, removing environmental regulations, and who-knows-what-else all designed to increase mortality and lower life expectancy. If youre ever interested in this concept, I suggest that you read a detailed treatise on morbidity and mortality-its remarkably complex and there exist subtle nuances within our civilization which contribute to its increase so that illness and death take a larger toll than one might expect.
A couple things: two years after Trump vanishes, I can almost guarantee you that it will be difficult to find anyone who will admit to voting for him publicly. When I was living in New York State during college, Nelson Rockefeller was winning the governorship in landslides but not a person I ever came into contact with ever volunteered that he or she had voted for him. What republicans talk about W., or his father, or even St. Ronny of Reagan? You hear their names more frequently on MSNOW than anywhere else.
Second, what the National media is going to do after the Democrats wrest control again is demand a new propriety for politicians and anything that even smells corrupt will be blown completely out of proportion. They will hold the Democrats responsible for sewage backups in communities since there will now have to be a higher standard, which will of course pave the road for the Republicans to make a comeback in 2 years, so they can screw everything up again.
Its the American Cycle of Life.
