Growing up in Amarillo Texas a half century ago we were told in school that this danger to democracy was from the working class voting ourselves more benefits like Social Security and Medicare than the economy could sustain.
Now that it is so completely obvious that the danger is from the 1% if schadenfreude were pennies, I would be in the 1%.
