5. I have other reasons for boycotting Uber and Airbnb.

I think I also read that Uber donated to Trump's inaugural fund and Lyft didn't.

Airbnb skirts so many laws and has contributed so heavily to the housing crisis that it's a no-brainer to boycott them. I consistently beg my friends not to use them, but to no avail.

Nike has that pesky sweatshop issue, and Phil Knight contributes to the Republicans.

I have boycotted Nike to the extent possible for years, but gig economy has done real harm and I avoid it as much as I can. I will always take an actual cab if it's available though occasionally I will take a Lyft in extenuating circumstances.
