once the prize itself is awarded it can't be revoked, returned or shared with someone else. Even in the few cases where a recipient has declined it (Lê Đức Thọ, for example), it's still on the books as having been awarded to him. It's not transferrable. Machado can't give it back and she can't share it because it's awarded on the basis of the actions of a particular individual. The committee could have awarded it to Machado and Trump jointly if they thought Trump deserved some of the credit for Machado's efforts in Venezuela up to 2/1/25, but obviously they didn't.

By the way, the deadline for the 2026 NPP is midnight on January 31, so Trump had better get busy doing a whole lot more peace in the next few weeks.
