He really is that much of greedy tyrant.
That, and he wanted to punish Machado for not demanding Trump receive the Nobel in her stead. What better way to do than by taking out Maduro, and but then going "yeah, no I'm not helping YOU get into power, because you stole MY Nobel!"
He really is that fucking petty.
OH, and he also probably believes Sydney Powell's CT about how Venezuela (I believe she blamed Hugo Chavez somehow 
) stole the election from him in 2020.
