Looking beyond Venezuela -- so we and Russia mutually recognize that the other is king of their neighborhood.

In our hemisphere, what does this mean for Cuba, Greenland, Mexico, . . .

In Europe, Putin would be strengthened in his lifelong desire to re-establish the old Soviet Union's empire.

Reminds me of that old jungle proverb: When the elephants fight, the grass is trampled.
