In December 2025, President Trump granted a full pardon to former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández, who had been convicted in a U.S. court for large-scale drug trafficking and weapons offenses. Hernández had been sentenced to 45 years in federal prison in June 2024 for conspiring to import hundreds of tons of cocaine into the U.S.
