The states have sole control over conducting elections.

States would refuse to put Trump on their respective primary ballots, citing the 22nd Amendment.

If Republicans somehow nominated Trump, or if Trump were to run as an independent, the states would again refuse to put Trump on their respective general election ballots.

Not saying Trump and Republicans wouldn’t try something, of course.
