In reply to the discussion: Florida 6th stays in MAGA hands... [View all]Wiz Imp
(8,582 posts)39. People here call ALL states that vote significantly Republican
shithole states regardless of their size. That include Texas which is significantly larger than Florida. People aren't singling out Florida, their ire is directed at every state that votes for Republicans by huge margins - including Texas, Florida, Ohio, Iowa, Kansas, South Carolina, Missouri, Indiana, Montana, Nebraska, Utah, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Dakota, Kentucky, Alabama, Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, North Dakota, Idaho, West Virginia & Wyoming.
By the way, I'm from Pennsylvania and I would absolutely call at least 2/3 of the counties in this state as shithole counties - including the county where I grew up. They absolutely deserve the designation.

Um, Florida is the 3rd most populous state by a pretty large margin over New York.

Good point. Democrats are in good shape in 2026, assuming we have midterms. n/t
