16. I will get my first spousal benefits in April because of fairness act.

When my husband started getting his SS retirement, I used the online calculator to determine
if I would get any benefit, but because of the offset my amount was a negative number so I didn't apply. The law provided for retroactive payments of 12 months. Since I had never applied my retroactive payout was 6 months. I received that a couple of weeks ago. I moved it from checking to saving as soon as it hit the bank.

if your SS was reduced at retirement because you have a pension based retirement you will get a notice. IF you are msongs Mar 29 #13
