Opinions have widely varied from "great improvement" to "no matter the lack of fire what we have is a mass disaster..."
So opinions have widely varied as well regarding how to best proceed with disaster response.
I haven't heard local news sources in the area of the fire posit bringing in the U.S. Military, although of course they would be a stellar resource.
This isn't California's first rodeo, nonetheless I'd suspect state officials have long been in contact with federal officials and that what most needs to happen will happen rather quickly.
The rest will take a great deal of time.

Also, some of those roads are kind of narrow and twisty to get their big equipment up
