In reply to the discussion: We are losing Democratic Registrations [View all]TBF
(35,688 posts)40. We don't have to claim a party in Texas,
except for when we vote in a primary. The last time I voted it was a run-off between two republicans. I voted for the less evil (if there is such a thing ...). So, if they look at my name the last thing it sees is voting in a republican primary (we have open primaries, so this is not unusual down here).

It's not just the Dem party. There is a HUGE amount of distrust against status quo politicians on both sides
