7. I can't stomach that smug jerk anymore. He's not nearly as smart as he thinks he is.

He recently had one of those blonde Faux News personalities as his first guest, and she ate his lunch. Maher was totally unprepared to refute her bullshit, so he just says OK and asks his next question. He thinks it's a "gotcha" but he's the one who gets got.

I finally had enough when he had Steve Bannon as his first guest a couple years ago, and that monster overwhelmed Billy boy with a gish gallop of lies for which the "Real Time" host was totally unprepared.

Unfortunately, I see almost every episode because my wife likes the discussions. We're a little behind, so last night we watched the previous Friday with Cuomo and a brunette Trump supporter as panelists.

At the end Maher spewed one of his favorite bullshit narratives, citing the worst fringe examples of "woke," painting the entire "Left" with that brush -- and by extension the Biden/Harris administration as a reason for the Nov 5 election loss.

My blood is boiling enough as it is without subjecting myself to the blatherings of that pompous asshole.

Yeah, I know. I could have just skipped this thread without leaving a comment, but I felt like venting when my anger from last night was triggered this morning.

No doubt I'll watch the latest episode with my wife. Tyson is always good, and Brazile doesn't take shit from Maher or rightwing panelists (which Tyson, of course, is not).

Bill actually said something that, if true, establishes some common ground with me -- that democracy and the environment are the most important issues to him. I would of course add human rights (which include gender & race) but all that goes out the window if we lose our democracy and Constitutional rule of law.

Which looks all too possible right now.
