Venezuelan strongman Nicolas Maduro appeared in federal court with his wife Cilia Flores on Monday to plead not guilty to narcotics trafficking charges. Ex-FBI agent Frank Figliuzzi questioned the premise of the top count against Maduro: a narco-terrorism conspiracy, arguing that the phrase has been stretched beyond recognition.
"We have a label we slapped on Maduro and his regime: You're all terrorists," Figliuzzi said. "Okay. Then I go back to the definition of terrorism, which is the use or threatened use of violence to intimidate or coerce or influence a government. For ideological purposes."
