1. I guess I really am a cynic. Whenever I hear MAGA voters express regret, my reaction is "meh."

I have yet to hear any Tr*mp voter express remorse, an acknowledgement of the consequences of their actions. And I have
no expectation that they will try to redeem themselves by working with Democrats to resist this regime and/or make other
amends for the harm they helped enable.
