Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders in Los Angeles this week, rallying a crowd of supporters at the Wiltern Theater, as he formally launched the campaign to get the California Billionaire Tax Act on the November ballot. That proposed ballot initiative aims to impose a one-time 5% tax on the net worth of billionaire residents in the Golden State. Supporters of the proposal argue it would prop up the state's health care system, while opponents, including California's Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom, say it could drive wealthy individuals out of the state.
