4. It was a prior incident

The suspect was a male, not Nichol Renee Good. In the first incident, it was justified to try to stop the guy as he was previously convicted of domestic violence and convicted of sex crimes against a minor--so definitely a bad guy. But Johnathon Ross broke the window, reached in, and got his arm stuck. The guy fled and dragged Ross for about 300 yards until he was able to get his arm out.

My comment about Johnathan Ross needing more training was a bit sarcastic, but also obviously true as well. There is very specific training on this. When I watch the video of the first incident, Johnathan Ross put himself in danger, by smashing the back window of a car and sticking his arm in when it's still on and idling. Most arrests like this, I usually see officers (more than one) pointing their gun at the car, in strategic positions that don't put them at risk of being run over by the suspect's car, and demanding the person get out of the car. To smash a rear window, put your arm all the way in, with a suspect in a running car seems like the wrong way to do it. A bit Rambo-ish.
