And for some, the symbolic victory for people who have traditionally been underrepresented is so important that they are willing to give up major ground on issues that are directly relevant to the empowerment of those same groups.
But you didn't. You refused to acknowledge those still huge symbolic victories--those symbolic victories, by the way, have been more than just symbolic for those minorities. They have had real effects on real people. You went for the easy meme on a very complicated issue.
