Too bad that once again, the party leadership ignored that message, just as they did in the last mid terms.

And I totally agree with your last paragraph.

Clearly it is now up the voters, DC backs DLCers and even goes so far as to endorse Republicans over their own candidate, see NJ gubernatorial race.
