2. It's not "odd" at all

It's simply Exposed now to people who are becoming more Interested (as opposed to Indifferent) and aware of whats already been going on between the two party's for Decades!

Yes, essentially, there are few differences between the two party's...leadership(s). They continue to busily keep "we, the people" divided and Outright Ignore "us"......yet, "we, the people" also, basically have the same goals, distrust of congress etc, regardless of political affiliation.
The way I see it-MSM assures us there will be little to no change in the promotion of it all.....
imo and in a nutshell.
