about the resistance to the Nazi occupation of Belarus.

"City of Life and Death" about the Japanese attack on and occupation of Nanking.

Both of these films are far more explicit about the horrors of war than most anything produced in Hollywood. Not even "Saving Private Ryan" comes close, so be forewarned--these are not easy films to watch.
