Can we bring back an optimistic Star Trek without super-villains and existential threats to Earth or the Federation?

I would like to see more optimistic science fiction where humanity generally has it's shit together and people solve technical, political, and personal problems in rational ways.

By all accounts that's what Roddenberry was trying to do when he created the series.

It's no coincidence that the people selling us all these grotesquely imperfect worlds as some kind of "normal" are the ones who profit the most from living in grotesquely imperfect worlds by the exploitation of others and the destruction of earth's natural environment.
