I disagree completely. Properly enacted and enforced, like automobile licensing, insuring, etc., these measures damn sure would make a difference. Eliminate gun violence? No. Make an enormous difference? Yes. See France, Japan, Australia, UK, Netherlands, etc. for different degrees and methods of control, and then look at their gun violence rates.
