2. pro-gun houston more crime prone than chicago

russ: .. even among LARGE cities Chicago’s gun violence isn’t the leader.

Just posted this on 'gunsalot', & note that there are several other progun cities with higher violent crime rates than Chicago, or on a par with. Chicago gets picked on because it has the higher figures, because it has the higher population.

HOUSTON 2,177,273 (for January - june 2013)
Murder 105
Aggravated Assault 5,087
Robbery 4,612

CHICAGO 2,708,382
Murder 179
Aggravated Assault 5,074
Robbery 5,416

... in terms of crime 'rates' per capita (100k), Houston is more violent-crime-prone:
crime .... .Houston ....... Chicago
murder ... 4.82 .... .... 6.6
aggr/asslt...233.6 ..... 187.3
robbery: ... 211.8 ..... 200

As well, Chicago has allowed handguns for a couple years now, so what to make of it.
