It isn't just kids, either. It applies to immature "adults" as well. I've had a lot of jobs over the years, but one of the most interesting was working as a valet, and then a supervisor/manager of valets. One (of many) contiual problems was employees stealing, or just playing with, things they found in people's cars. (Most of our hires were college students, with a disproportionate number of fraternity members.) There was a guy who found a floppy rubber sex toy and was smacking his friends with it. There was a guy I fired for pinching a bottle of oxycontin, and there were two geniuses I caught playing with a (loaded) pistol that had slid from underneath the driver's seat when the valet braked too hard.

Honestly, this baffles me. Not so much the stupidity of two 19yr old guys in playing with a loaded weapon, I expect teenagers to be stupid. But what kind of a nitwit shoves a loaded, unholstered pistol under his car seat and then hands the car keys to a valet not old enough to buy beer? (I would have fired the guys playing with the gun, but it wasn't my call, wasn't in charge at that time.)
