(WDAY TV) -- Personal privacy and law enforcement using drones for surveillance is the hot topic at the North Dakota Capitol.

The house passed a measure yesterday that would require a warrant to use unmanned planes for surveillance on people. Law enforcement would use the drones during the investigation of a felony crime, or to monitor "an environmental or weather-related catastrophe."

The aircrafts would not be armed, or used to investigate misdemeanor crimes or traffic infractions.
