I agree, I came to a similar conclusion shortly after the election, to keep from living in despair and hopelessness. I can't stay in that depressed spot or I will become sick. There really is no way to talk reason to people who voted for Trump, their universe has different realities. So without the ability to engage in rational discussion, and no hope for compromise from Trump's people, we really don't have much to work with right now. It might be easier to have a discussion with someone whose language I don't speak, so long as we are living in the same reality.

I have a suspicion that there will be some dust-ups between Trump and the mainstream Rs at some point. Most of them are licking his boots now, but he will step on their toes, and if they say "ouch", they'll have hell to pay. Let his minions rise up and go after them with their torches and pitch forks. Not my deal.
