So difficult to feel hopeful this New Year's Eve [View all]

My reality is that 2020 is the year I lost my mom. And while the year is over, I just don't have the bright outlook, or the sense of relief I thought I would have.

Too many others out there suffering from loss, suffering from the virus, suffering from the economic effects of the virus. The stroke of midnight doesn't change it.

I'm going to spend my day looking for things to be hopeful about. Even if it's just little things. I think that's what Mom would want me to do.


(damn, these holidays really mess with you when you lose someone so close!)
