Severe weather hit the town of La-Chaux-de-Fonds, northwestern Switzerland with heavy rain and strong winds on Monday, July 24. A gust of 217 km / h was recorded by swiss meteorological service at La Chaux-de-Fonds aerodrome this Monday morning, under a storm cell which suddenly strengthened when arriving in the region. A video has surfaced on social media that shows the intensity of the storm. Several trees have been pulled up by their roots.

The tornado, which struck for a short time, also caused the rail traffic is completely interrupted at La Chaux-de-Fonds station and public transport is also at a standstill in the area.
