total lunar eclipses that happen in the span of two years, a phenomenon astronomers call a lunar tetrad. The eclipses in a tetrad occur about six months apart with five uneclipsed full moons between them.

Back in May 2022 it was possible to see a deep, dark and jaw-dropping “Blood Moon” from North America for 84 magical minutes. During that eclipse the Moon traveled through the southern half of the Earth's shadow.
