In Neuromuscular diseases, quickly chilling the tissue can temporarily abate some symptoms.

Putting an affected arm in an ice bath for a short time can decrease symptoms for a short while. It's sort of an "Old School" diagnostic test, one of many that _may_ indicate something.

Before my MG was finally diagnosed, I noticed that I could eat ice cream without choking, unlike warm foods.

Thank The FSM for an otolaryngologist that said "This sounds like it's more neurological. Let me go check something out my computer."
