and usually cite the story of Lot, one of the OT's real charmers. Noah was another one. A lot of those old patriarchs were pond scum and I've always been shocked by preachers and priests who have held them up as examples of righteousness. Made me disbelieve in the authority of priests and preachers, along with a single word of that old book. Too much of ist is just plain silly, with much of it downright evil.

A lot of believers claim it's in various chapters and verses of the Book of Hebrews, but they're drawing on commentaries about that book instead of driect quotes.

As I sais, it's a great way for men to justify diddling children while they do So Much Good Work (TM). No one ever seems to think about the people they are destroying on their way to heaven.
