peninsula in the southeastern US that once formed part the boundary of a large gulf and had a huge waterfront city on it's southern tip and large metropolitan areas on its western coast. Swallowed up by melting glaciers and sea ice in the 21st century.

A few high mountain peaks will show where island nations and a US state once existed in the Pacific Ocean.

People of the future will read about a lowland European nation that used to protect itself from rising seas with dikes.

They will hear about a city in Italy where people used waterways like streets, until the waterways grew larger and the land area became smaller.

Today's maps will be outdated images of what the world used to look like.
