He edited the New Testament down heavily to focus on the words Jesus is supposed to have said. He cut out all the nonsense and focused on the core of the religion.

The Jefferson Bible, people call it. It's only 82 pages long. Everything a Christian really needs can be found in those 82 pages. You can read it at:
