People are always quick to point out their tiny 32nd South Central Worcester 181st Synod Universalist Presbyterian Pastafarian Church is gay-friendly, and while that's fantastic, it is statistically meaningless when the gargantuan Roman Catholic Church, as it is organized, is decidedly hostile. Fighting homophobia on the fringes of religion won't make a huge difference when mainstream denominations with huge memberships and plenty of cash to throw around continue to go unchallenged.
